You
I think–therefore I am;
So then, who or what are you?
A meaningless collection of thoughts and phrases,
But what about the meaningful things you do?
I watch–therefore I foresee;
Do you understand me, psychically impaired?
An unfeeling collection of thoughts and actions,
But what about the meaningful things you declare?
Was it your lies; or your superstition that haunted you?
Was it yourself; or your confidence that daunted you?
Was it your talent; or your selfishness that thrilled you?
Was it yourself; or your addiction that killed you?
Lose faith–you can see what lies ahead.
Lose faith–but are you better off dead?
Had a little trouble following this one. Not sure if ‘You’ is yourself or another person. Assume it refers to your own self because of ‘physically’ impaired mention.(read your ‘about’) Either way..the third portion sounds like ‘You’ refers to a very gifted but carnal individual who destroyed himself or herself by way of an addiction. If it is about yourself…then it seems to be a lamenting of your present circumstance….and a future loss of hope. Whatever the meaning…it’s ‘sad.’
I like poetry. Thanks for sharing yours.
