So, I’ve got my mark back for TMA03. 80%. Not so bad.

And a lot can be said for the double entendre! Sometimes, I’m glad to have such a dirty mind!

I do think you should check with your tutor.I also think you have hit the nail on the head,it’s taken the joy out of writing. At least I have decided on my ECA,it will be autobiographical,in a similar vein to what you have just read for tma04.Have you had any thoughts for tma05?

Yeah, autobiographical poetry. I get that Mslexia magazine – you know, that one for women (talk about discriminatory) – but the was a thing in there in the last magazine about writing a blurb about your life, then turning it into a poem. I’m going to have a go at that. Otherwise, it’s just general poetry and looking at the submissions policy for Iota.

Ha,my prediction was correct!I have decided to finish the course but will not be doing anything similar again. It’s a real shame because i am really enjoying it but it is far too subjective and the marking is appaling as far as I am concerned. My tutor admitted that two markers could differ by 30%. So,one may give you 60%,the other 90%. I am sorry but that is just not good enough.
Glad princi is ok btw 🙂

I’m not going to do a course like this again either. It’s sapping the joy and fun out of writing. I am definitely sticking to more academic courses for the rest of the degree! I’m worried about the ECA, that the story I’ve written wont cut the mustard, simply because it’s kid lit. I’m not sure I have another short story in me right now, I feel seriously blocked in the creative sense. I might send an email to my tutor to ask about the ECA story, see what she says. If not, I think I’m going to have to try and batter out some poetry.

I’m starting to panic now. The end of the course is coming up too fast, and I have the two week Easter holiday to contend with in three weeks time. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!
